It's poetic justice that prior to her death, Doris Tate became an activist by giving her testimony at the Manson murderers' parole hearings (her 2 youngest daughters also carried the torch)...Sharon Tate begged for her mother as Atkins stabbed her to death. For years Atkins had to face Mrs. Tate for whom Sharon cried that night in 1969. Yes, Mrs. Tate did come to Sharon's defense and all of the murderers had to listen. My thoughts are with the families of the victims.

Why do these people even seek parole? Their life would be a living hell on the outside. Stabbing a pregnant woman and her baby dozens of times doesn't really look too good on a resume'

Its true the parole boards never given Atkins a fair hearing But Its irrelevent in this case, Atkins & Co were initially given the death penalty but the death penalty was outlawed a year later So they all got "life with parole" (no such thing as life without parole back then) Its not that these hearings are unfair to Atkins the reality is the parole boards just going thru the motions of a hearing because of the "legal technicality" & all parties know it. What a farce !

I gotta say it's funny watching these hearings. The inmate and her lawyer are shuffling papers, and acting like they're giving a presentation at a board room meeting. They don't seem to get the fact that this isn't just an administrative hearing to those impacted, it's a torturous reminder that their loved ones were slaughtered to death by pathetic losers.

One would have hoped that, since you are German, you of ALL people, would avoid stereotyping people and condescending to other nationalities. You should relate well to Atkins, in that she too was easily led by a nutcase. She killed 8 people, your countrymen killed tens of millions. But keep joking about Americans if that's what helps you feel okay ;)

Doris Tate, Debra Tate, Patricia Tate, Sharon Tate's father HAVE VICTIM'S RIGHT'S. Doris Tate FOUGHT to change the law so that victim's could have THE RIGHT to SPEAK out for the DEAD LOVED ONE's right to the dignity of their memory.

Susan Atkins, Leslie Van Houto , Tex Watson were MODEL Manson FOLLOWERS. They followed evil and did what they were told. Now they are model prisoners and have the nerve to ask for parole. The convicted killer Edward William Gacy was also a model prisoner.

There are consequences to crime. Susan Atkins may have felt those consequences were unpleasant; probably not as unpleasant as being held down while a stranger stabs you and your unborn baby to death.

Susan Atkins' victims can never speak for themselves. The horrific suffering inflicted upon their families is real, and counts. Debra Tate speaks to that effect. Thank goodness for that.

Being a 'Born-again Christian' is not a get out of jail free card.

Seems like the prosecutiion got the favorable treatment. All they did was rehash stuff we already knew, sensationalist stuff. The purpose of the hearing should have been how she has done since the incarceration began. Susan was a born-again Christian. Why was the SAME doctor who trashed her the same one who was to question her again? I don't see why the hell Debra Tate should have been allowed to say anything.
