This is a Beta tape showing off the new Intellivision game system- I don't know if this was for consumers or retailers. The most interesting part of it is the computer add-on which never made it to market, though in 1983 a different add-on called Aquarius came out.

  • The Keyboard Component sections must be mock-ups. While the noise from the audiocassette samples are probable, the clarity and resolution of the text is not, especially since the Keyboard Component would only have 16K of RAM without expansions. Compare this to the "Conversational French" footage from the test market demonstration cassette. The text is smaller than it would be on the Master Component, but it still uses the same raster font.

  • @tkwtube01 Yeah, on the original tape you can tell those parts are fake.

  • My sister and I had an Intellivision for years.. I also had the Xbox game with a majority of the game, as well.. =)

  • @PortPowerAZ I have the Intellivision disc for the Playstation 2, but of course that isn't the same. The Intellivision's controllers are insanely awful though.

  • Weye do U H8 NBsee? lmao

  • @RegaLPleX08 Because NBC was the first of the "Big 3" networks to start keeping their logo onscreen all the time rendering their shows unwatchable, and when I put a video up showing how it ruined one of their shows they put in a copyright infringement complaint.

I hate Regal Cinemas too- I worked for them 10 years ago and left because they had stupid common-width screens and they wanted to show the stupid ads BIGGER than the movie!

  • Holy Crap! did he say 16 bit processor with extremely high resolution? Man I can't believe that. I need to get me one. Wait... I already have one.

  • But the worst part is, it seems like they wanted it to actually look like that. Just put a professional character generator in the Keyboard Component, increase the price exponentially, and no one would know the difference!

  • @StudioSHAD George Plimpton wouldn't agree more!

  • @eyeh8nbc wow...then I LUV FOX...greatest network ever...and BTW my name is based on a wrestling move not the cinema...

  • Intellivision was a great system. Can't stand the controller though. (I heard that if hold a certain way, it is easier to use. I should look into this). Also, your description has a slight mistake...a much-simplified "computer add-on" was indeed released, but it wasn't "Aquarius". Mattel Aquarius was a short-lived early 1980s computer probably intended to compete with the Commodore Vic-20 and Timex-Sinclair range. Programmers at Mattel hated it, and said it was "the system for the seventies"!
