why just listen to the music he didn't play it like the others he added his own 'little nuances' that were all his and clear as a BELL~ He played it HIS way...he stopped and slowed down where others would have just flown over the bar without stopping to smell the roses...wow....wow

yes he was wonderful. he was not like todays "greenhouse-violinists" and had his personality.

I don't think we'll ever hear anything like him ever again. A talent like that doesn't just happen - it takes generations of musical families to produce such an artist.

Is the recording too sharp or its just they tune concert A >440 ?

Very different interpretation from more recent ones but excellent! He was a wonderful fiddler!
