"The Lord of Salisbury his Pavin," by Orlando Gibbons, played on the harpsichord by Kevin H Gray. Gibbons, who lived from 1583 until 1625, has left 45 keyboard works in various sources. Glenn Gould declared Gibbons to be his favorite composer.

  • Greetings, I'd be happy to respond to your question, but I'm afraid that the score from which I played this performance is no longer in my possession. I have another score that contains a different edition of this piece, but I'm afraid I don't know, off hand, its location right now. I'll keep your question in mind, though, and hope to answer it a later time.

  • Why do you (and others) play the a G# and a F# instead of the natural G and F at the begining?
