Carrie Prejean Versus Perez Hilton

Many evangelical Christians are rushing to embrace Miss USA contestant Carrie Prejean because her statement opposing to gay marriage cost her the Miss USA title. While I have nothing against Ms. Prejean, this is yet another example of the sad state of the Christian culture in America. Instead of desperately needing celebrities and politicians to represent us in the mainstream culture, we should be representing Jesus Christ to people in the world that desperately need salvation! Good points, but you seem to be assuming that she somehow manufactured or 'inspired' the entire controversy.... as is well known, in fact, she had no idea she was going to be placed on the spot with this question- she merely answered honestly based on her own beliefs. It is her critics who are perpetuating the attention. That the majority of Americans are in agreement with her would clearly reflect her widely shared sensibilities with the people she sought to represent.

I did not imply that she manufactured the controversy. My issue was never with Carrie Prejean, but instead people who preach culture instead of Christianity. Culture, values, tradition, patriotism etc. are all false gospels that have nothing to do with the Person or mission of Jesus Christ, which is to save sinners. Thank you.

No one ridiculed except for Perez Hilton who's just 1 deranged individual who doesnt represent the whole media. The liberal media only scrutinizes her subsequent dishonesty etc which is nothing compared to the conservative media. Its not 100% her fault she misrepresented herself as virtuos while making sex tapes but she definately was hypocritical when espousing those values when she uses flesh to get ahead. PS your the one going to hell HS doesnt infring on rights bigotry is what we reject

But I do think in general, that she has improperly been the object of too many scathing, outrageous personal attacks by many secular groups. The fact that they in many instances despise traditional morality cannot be entirely coincidental to their intolerance of Christianity
