The Tribe Of Benjamin Band - Funk Etude in E minor

The Tribe of Benjamin is a concept created by Benjamin Jephta a young bassist from Mitchells Plain in Cape Town. His vision was to make jazz music more attractive and accessible to young people, without losing its essence.

By being exposed to jazz from a young age he has that seen that jazz is the one musical genre which crosses all spectrums of music. After becoming increasingly frustrated with current trends in music, he decided to create a band that would once again make jazz music popular amoungst young people, but in the process also avoiding becoming a jazz purist.

His band fuses some popular music trends with various jazz styles. His hope is to eventually expand his tribe with members who share the same vision.
