This is a video showing where I place my battery in the compartment along with some other setup information. This setup is a little nose heavy, but that is good for this plane. The following flight is in a steady 15-20 mph wind.

  • Wow that's crazy wind for this plane! :) I suppose its what you are use to and where you live. When I fly mind there is barely any wind in my flight area ever. Its always calm here. Prob get a lot more tricky practice there than I do. Check some of my skysurfer vids too. I put a gopro on mine as well.

  • @mikesmegabits The wind is fun once you get used to it ;) As for cameras, this is a Sony HD Webbie velcro'd onto one of the wings.

  • Is it true this has 30min flight time?

  • @ethanissocool After about 20 minutes my neck starts to hurt from looking up in the air at the plane so I land. ;)

  • It is a 3 cell 11.1 V battery and the C rating is 20-30C (don't really know how it can vary). If you get a bigger battery, just get one that is at least 20C because anything lower won't handle the current draw as efficiently. The higher the C rating the more amps the battery can deliver.

  • no, i got the kit plane with the brushless upgrade. i don't recommend getting the brushed version if you buy either the kit or the RTF. :)

  • @mikesmegabits mine - not mind

Don't ever believe what the ads tell ya! WORD!! *LOL*

It's like listening to a used car salesman, or insurance agent.

You'll do good to get 20 minutes on a 2200mAh LiPo, and that's with lots of soaring.

Count more on 10-15 minutes - and like trublu says, 10's about enough for a run. BTW if you don't know, overdischarging LiPo's absolutely kill them -- not doing it is your biggest hurdle.

  • @trublu2nu

That 20~30C data means it's rated for 20Amp steady, 30Amp 'burst' discharge. You normally don't want to do bursts of over 10-15 seconds duration as it overheats the LiPo's internals. The beefed up insides of an identical mAh rated battery with higher discharge rates (eg a 2200mAh 20~30C vs a 2200mAh 30~50C) is why the heavier-duty unit costs more.

Nice flying, by the way. Obviously you're having lots of fun with a lot-of-fun bird.

(Bixler flier here - same bird, diff decals)

  • @trublu2nu Thanks man nice vid BTW.

  • wow wow wow i just got one here going out tomorrow your video is wow wow
