Carl Wayne sings the Jeff Lynne song 'Midnight Blue' with help from Roy Wood on vocal backing and ELOs Louis Clark arranging the strings.
This is the B side of Carl's singel 'Deeper than Love' released on Jet records in 1982

It's on the Carl Wayne album "Songs From The Wood And Beyond", also known as "Beyond The Move" and available on Amazon for £1.50! Honest! It was released after Carl Wayne's sad deathand includes ELO's "Stepping Out" plus Roy's songs "Aerial Pictures", "Colourful Lady", "Givin' Your Heart Away", "Hot Cars" and "Hazel Eyes".

New one on me. Gosh. I actually really like it. Nice to hear a different take. I like the comparitive simplicity. I like the lushness of the original too, but hey, I've been listening to that for ... oops ... thirty years. Wow, yeah, I just realised I bought Discovery in 1979 with some birthday money from my dad.
