I went to see the site of Mandela's release last year, and there is now a wonderful statue on the spot. It is in beautiful countryside near Paarl. Really well worth a visit. The prison used to be called Victor Verster, now is called Groot Drakenstein. I think all South Africans should see these places, to learn about that time when we were coming close to a civil war. There is too much negativity in SA today. We must always be thankful that a man like Mr Mandela was born.
