The fact that the engine is a L head has nothing to do with it being noisy. Its the cheap muffler on it. I made a muffler for an old Kohler L head engine and all you could hear coming out of it was pulsating air. If you're handy with a welder and some sheet metal and tubes, you can quiet that thing right down. Don't make it too restrictive though.

My friend has a Coleman Powermate I think its called, 6hp Briggs OHV, 5 Gallon tank or more..... used to work dont know what happened. Engine runs great and quieter, but no electric...... it was setup to lights in a basement, you start it lights would come on, then it quit.......

i got the same genny But i cant get my Engine to start any help i cleaned the bowl like i saw in ur vid it got spark and it has gas but i dont got the gas tank on it i just put some gass down the hose that sticks out

LOL our 10 HP Briggs Craftman generator is super noisy too lol and it's a pain to start because of the up draft carb on it 5 stars !!!!
