Ohh.. That´s sad.. I think freestyle or "the dancing routines" is/was the best thing on DDR..
-
O_O DAMN!! I would hurt myself trying that!

True, but they also need to take into account that the machine is meant for a lot of activity on it.

they definitely do. i live in ohio, and there are tournaments here at least once every 3 months, but usually every 2. however, they are all technical/PA tournaments. freestyle [playing like this, actually "dancing"] is generally dead.

too bad if you used this routine in some of the arcades I used to play at you would be automatically eliminated from the competition...
At 1:27 the dude in blue jeans does a wall walk/flip off of the GLASS FRONT PANEL of the cabinet. For some reason, the people who own arcades frown on this. Not sure why.

This is called the "Matrix Walk," which was a freestyle move that was made popular in the early 2000s. Named after the movie, this move was very popular in routines.
Arcades tend to frown upon this move due to the fact that there is risk for damaging the machine. People can kick the screen in or shake the machine so much, the cd-rom skips, and possibly crashes the computer inside.

holy crap .. that takes skill. I thought they were gonna do Dead End on some wimpy ass light or standard mode.

That is actually the basic/light steps they are freestyling too. Not maniac/heavy or trick/standard.
