Science of the Heart

The human heart emits the strongest electromagnetic field in our body. This electromagnetic field envelops the entire body extending out in all directions, and it can be measured up to several feet outside of the body. Research from the Institute of HeartMath shows that this emotional information is encoded in this energetic field. HeartMath researchers have also seen that as we consciously focus on feeling a positive emotion - such as care, appreciation, compassion or love - it has a beneficial effect on our own health and well-being, and can have a positive affect on those around us.

It's hard to believe. For "any" electromagnetic field of the heart to alter, there must be a change in the sequence of electrical excitation of the heart. This would be detected by a simple electrocardiogram (ECG). If it was true it would have been discovered several decades ago, ie a different ECG morphology when the person is emotionally stimulated. Also, the voltage cardiac excitation on the surface of the skin (which is what is detected by an ECG) is in the scale of 1-25 mV and that is not

quacky quack quack we don't need this new age mumbo jumbo to make us feel good. i've looked pretty hard and i can't find a single reputable, peer reviewed publication related to this heartmath stuff. you'd think something as possibly groundbreaking as coherence on a macro level would get published somewhere, but looks like these guys are content with youtube... come on people

We really are deeply inter-connected with the planet and each other and what we each does really does matter! It is my heartfelt prayer that we each take responsibility for uplifting our planet and its conditions by doing the inner work - which is all done at the heart level. I, and I would assume many others as well would love to see a documentary made on this topic showing in great detail the science involved with this research, its applications, its observed empirical effects and the entire realm of its associated heuristics.
