then we have the jumping-on-the-other-guys-back kind of greeting. I see a lot of that in high school. Skip the ones in this videos. lol

so great.

So very true-he nailed it!

The one edit I would make is with the last one. It is okay to actual throw your arm around pat the other guy on the back, often with a bit of a chest bump thrown in for good measure.

Those handshakes apply mostly to men. Women are abit different, but so far he was fairly accurate.

I've seen and participated in every handshake preformed in this video. It's dead on. Though sometimes I skip the first three and move directly to the forth

Yeah, as an American in the north I've only seen the first one, but damn that was funny.

Thanks for this video. Really funny and actually informative as well! I remember I had a great friend in grad school who was Dutch, and when he was moving back home we went to say goodbye...he made an effort to do it the American way, I made an effort to do it the Dutch way. We ended up with an awkward combination of hug, kiss and handshake :)
I shared this video on VOA's Student Union blog for international students.

Nice set of videos. Of course it's a good introduction and like how it's so hands-on!! Of course everyone in America has a different way of doing things. Those handshakes were not so common where I have lived, minus the first one! :)
