Uh. Apparently, the sound is working again. Uh. 0_0
I've heard it mentioned in numerous places how Blue doing nothing to save Silph Co. from the Rockets, and outright leaving it in the middle of the takeover, are signs of his irresponsibility and jerkiness. Following from that, I made a connection tonight that I had never noticed before. Blue has been standing in this room for who knows how long, alone with the guy who gives the player Lapras, and presumably being a jerk to him. Lapras-man specifically gives the player Lapras after he ascertains the player is there to help free Silph. Gary talks about his Pokédex after the battle, but the fact is, he missed out on a chance to get a rare Pokémon because he was only hanging around to mess with his rival rather than helping fight against Team Rocket. Presumably, if Blue had been trying to help, he would have gotten the Lapras long before the player showed up. It's a rather clever detail and helps flesh out Blue's character a bit.
Yes, I brought a Jigglypuff as backup. I couldn't decide what my sixth member should be, and I pretty much had all Blue's types covered, so I just went with something neutral that had no weaknesses (present in this battle) and a healing ability. Yes, Snorlax is better, but everyone uses Snorlax. Snorlax is boring now.
