  • I don't understand how some 1911's will have next to no muzzle rise. Is that only with the competition models?

  • @CrystalHunter1989 It has to do with how tight you can grip the pistol. Todd's grip is iron, so there's not much muzzle rise.

  • @sebbybean You should also keep in mind that while Todd gets his ammo for free when it comes to competitions he probably loads them, or has them loaded for him, to specific specs which are most comfortable for him. Not all of his rounds are full power, I'm assuming.

  • @DemitriosX We're all using the same equipment in this video. The ammunition is .45ACP Frangible made by International Cartridge Corporation.

  • does todd using the para ordinance todd jarrett signature .40 caliber?? plz correct me im planning to buy para ord for my collection

  • Here he's using an LDA .45 because that's what Para was promoting at this event. I don't know what he normally uses. He definitely uses a Para, but my guess would be a custom model made just for him.

  • he should be calculating the wind speed next time he does that...

  • @CrystalHunter1989 a lot of it is custom loaded ammo that has JUST enough power to cycle the slide.

  • @CrystalHunter1989 Most competition shooters shoot a 9mm or .38 super on a 1911 frame. Plus the weapon is heavier than most stock 1911's .

  • That ain't hard

  • @CrystalHunter1989 reduced load ammo. I do reload and i use 3.8grains of GM3 powder. It is the minimum load to recoil and load new shell. I got no rise at all.

During competition you cannot otherwise underload to much. Your ammo are fired in a chrono to have the minimum muzzle speed required.

  • @hhaausker LMFAO That WOO! is his trademark. "Woohoo that's1hotguuUHHHuunnn..."

  • Todd is an incredible shot and makes this look easier than it is. I recommend trying this and then commenting. Btw the power factor is 165 not 265.

  • Woo! That's a hot gun! This gun is hot!!! I've never seen a hot gun like this. WOO!

  • @sebbybean i wonder what grain are his bullets..most people like light 200 grain bullets some like heavy 230 grain..

  • @sebbybean Exactly right. You hold a 1911 high with the webbing of the hand and put a monkey grip on it. If you're speed shooting and your getting smoke stacks then you aren't holding it tight enough. The gun is rising and grabbing the empty out of the air.
