  • 1:35 in the background. Any guesses? I can't quite tell what it may be.

  • Thanks for posting. I've been looking for this Mitch Miller version for years. I also remember it as a TV spot in the early 60s. They used to show it at the station sign-on along with the National Anthem. In the 70's, the TV station gave the 16mm reel to the camera store I worked at in High School to test projectors. I must have seen it 100 times then, but I've haven't seen it in more than 30 years. What a great service song.

  • Leave in April for BMT with the Air Force.

  • @ginjaninja1988 I wonder if when they sing Wild Blue Yonder they now have to sing "atta person, giver it the gun".

  • Great video!

  • @ginjaninja1988 I know right! Screw their laws. They should worry more about Libya, Gulf of Mexico, Afghanistan, and other of the problems, rather than this fine music!

  • Go Air Force!

  • I read somewhere they are not allowed to sing this song anymore because its offensive and not politically correct since it objectifies women with the line "a pretty girl's eyes." Also that it only sings about male Airmen. What a load of Bullshit.

  • I remember playing and marching to this song in Drum and Bugle Corps at Lackland Air Force Base in basic training. Never knew there were words to the tune. Brings back some cool memories!!

  • i heared the tune for this song played at the airforce academy after the airforce song

  • Boeing B-47 Stratojet

  • Can't believe that someone besides myself and husband remember that song and Curtis LeMay. We were both stationed at Westover AFB in MA and married there. This new version of the Air Force song came out that year. LeMay would come in impromtu and he meant busiess. Thank God for men like him.
