Conventional CCD sensors achieve a dynamic range of about 60 dB or 1000:1. uEye cameras with HDR sensor are capable of capturing a dynamic range which is 1000 times higher.

This video shows a uEye HDR camera compared to a CCD camera. Both cameras are looking directly at a light bulb whose brightness varies continuously. While the CCD sensor quickly overexposes and loses image information due to the blooming effect, the HDR camera still shows all the details.
