@blacktigerpaw1 If you feel any guilt, that's on you. If you weren't there and didn't have a hand in it, why feel guilty? That's on your soul to ponder.

@blacktigerpaw1 Not at all. It's just that as a black woman, I can only speak from that perspective, while maintaining an open mind for all points of view.

This is much easier to understand! My teacher's an idiot!

@AliceCullensAwesome Thanks for the White Guilt, sweetie.

@bamagirlj30 I agree that what happened to innocent African-Americans during that time period was horrible, but today we do not glorify it in any way, while most of the French still glorify this violence as a crusade for freedom. We as a nation are still as a whole trying to atone for the horrors committed against blacks in this country, but most of the French still view these actions as justified and patriotic. I speak in generalizations because there are exceptions of course.

@AliceCullensAwesome Ever hear of slavery and the subsequent Jim Crow laws. Just as they carried the man's head around on a stick, crowds gathered to see INNOCENT black men, women, AND children hang from trees. At any moment, these people could be killed--burned, tarred and feathered-for simply using the wrong restroom, or drinking from the wrong fountain, or not moving from the sidewalk to the street to let a white person pass. THIS is just as barbaric. AMERICAN history
