  • I first saw this cartoon when I was about 6 years old. Then the father opened the little car's trunk to spank him, when I saw his butt, the first thing I said was: "I didn't know cars had butts!!"

  • the dad sounds like danny devito

  • Cars aint got nada on this xD

  • @gnikcohs BTW this cartoon is a virtual remake of Friz Freleng's 1937 WB cartoon Streamlined Greta Green. In '37 Avery was working at WB and this must have impressed him strongly. He reremade it, somewhat loosely but close enough, as Little Johnny Jet. If interested you should also check out Disney's Susie the Little Blue Coupe (1952). But of them all this is the most human. PS Besides Fred Flintstone I think there is a little touch of Droopy in these guys too.

  • One of my favorite cartoons ever. I think Papa Cab's face looks a lot like Fred Flintstone's. William Hanna and Joseph Barbera were at MGM at this time and at bottom this and the Flintstones both created a world in which our familiar world and daily life, in fine detail, were exactly and rigorously duplicated in a cartoon world. I wish I knew what was going through Avery's mind when he made this: it has little of his insane humor, insane pacing, or insane insanity, but it's a masterful cartoon.

  • 93 OCTANE THE CHEAPEST ROCKET FUEL THE BEST.

  • LOL the son was like forget this shit dad I wanna drive. LOL

  • Based on the radio soap, 'One man's family'. Merry Christmas, everybody!

  • classic! thanks for the upload

  • This is still one of my favorite shorts!!
