Here's my first play at the NES homebrew game "Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril." With the dificulty setting at 'normal' I still had my work cut out for me. It's a good game though, so once I get further in I'll do another video.

  • @retrogamerSam Some homebrews can be expensive. Songbird Productions charges $89.95 for Total Carnage for the Jaguar.

    STAY AWESWOME! :)

  • @cessnaace ok, kool. I kinda want to buy that "Pirate Booty" cart. No particular reason... :) But for 60 bucks, I don't think so.

  • @retrogamerSam I'll have to examine your vids. :)

Yes. Thenesdump is a site that offers homebrews. You can download their games, or you can pay them $30-40 per game to have them put it on a cart. I haven't ordered from them yet, but will eventually. Anyway, there's a link to their site in the profile section of my channel.

    STAY AWESOME! :)

  • @cessnaace I'm not sure what I could trade. Have you seen anything you would like in any of my recent videos? PS are there any other homebrew NES sites?

  • @retrogamerSam I dunno. RetroZone (as is the case with nearly all homebrew/repro publishers) manufactures very few copies of each release. Many fewer than 100 copies. That's why I recommend checking the websites of homebrew publishers frequently. I have links to many of them in the profile section of my channel. What did you have in mind to trade?

    STAY AWESOME! :)

  • @cessnaace if you bought one when the next ones come out, I would gladly trade something for it.

  • @retrogamerSam Larry of ScrewAttackEurope told me that it was designed hard on purpose. I believe him. :) There were 2 or 3 difficulty settings harder than Normal.

It was $29 if I remember correctly. It's currently not available. It sold out right after I bought my copy. But never fear - RetroZone is working on a reissue, with some tweaks.

    STAY AWESOME! :)

  • dang! that game looks hard but fun! How much did it cost?

  • @pocketmego If I get good enough, I'll do a video on the harder settings.

I just uploaded another play vid, this one on the NES homebrew "Sara Parker's Pool Challenge." And I've ordered two more homebrews. :)

    STAY AWESOME! :)

  • @cessnaace

And you were playing it normal. I can't believe there are like 3 harder settings on that thing. LOL
