we beleive he is one of the great prophet, and to show respect we say peace be upon him because our prophet told us to do so,read this:Peace on him the day he was born, and the day he dieth and the day he shall be raised alive! ...read chapter 19 verse 15 to 35. it tells how great he was and how pure him marry was,,,i is in the quran ,look at the english translation

We say peace be upon him because of the respect of the great prophet and human he was.. Jesus in the koran is Isa and Mary in the koran is Mariem..

muslims call jesus aissa. and mary is mariem. No one is a Muslim if he does not believe on jesus as a prophete and on all other prophets.
