Another GREAT knife company is CONDOR KNIVES. i believe that they make a much better machete than cold steel & CONDOR is cheaper overall. i love their "Golok" & "Barong" machetes,. As far as knives go CONDOR "Hudson Bay" is a "real" strong knife. Something that "The Great Jim Bowie" might have used. Simple but a real work horse. Also check out the "Kumunga", nice.

@MrEdium Yeah, man.  No doubt some of their stuff looks pretty sweet. I like that "Bush Cutlass". Too much stainless stuff though. I get so sick of all these companies having so much stainless.

Yeah, you can make a slab of pig iron sharp if you grind it long enough. But that doesn't necessarily mean it will be useful as a knife.

They aren't a joke, they are wicked strong and freakishly sharp.

You can keep your stainless shit, I like cold steel's products. They aren't bull shit like other knife companies I've tried.

The REAL reason most people do not carry a large knife {IF they carry a knife} is because, in most states & here in puerto rico, it's against the law to carry something bigger. Now in defense of Mr Lynn Thompson, for about 10 years he has been training with his fellow DOG BROTHERS in the art of kali. He is well trained in stick, espada y dagga, knife fighting, dumog & sword fighting. So if you believe that he is fat & an easy target, believe me, he's not. This is why his focus is on SPARRING.
