the gum "thing" is actually an old singer's "trick", it keeps the throat and mouth wet so one can sing when they have dry,......or as we say "cotton mouth"...Im sure you can figure the rest out for yourself. A great example of another great artist doing this is Greg Lake performing 'Still You Turn Me On' @ the 1974 California Jam, check it out. As for Will Hoge: still deserves more success than he's received so far.......
