I really don't get why she's so highly rated...seems a fairly average singer to me...annoying to listen to in all honesty

Awwwh, Susan Boyle ^^

@DivingAxE North Americans? You are disrespecting an entire continent, and at that using some of the most terrible grammar I've ever seen? Most performers influence an applause when inspiration and sheer awe has struck them. It gives the performer a reason to keep moving forward, and lets them know that they are having an emotional impact on their audience.
I'm from the United States by the way. And I refuse to be ridiculed by the ignorance of my neighbor.

you cannot expect too much from a society of high consumption rates, that needs people brain less to buy as the bees attack the flowers, they are indeed ”meant” to be as ignorant an focus over banal things as party drinks and drunks, in the end is not completely their fault

that’s how north American are :) they are so sense less, the majority is people with bad education, in general they are pop culture, they why thy clap like monkeys, they cannot appreciate the great singing or a great performance and halt to express their emotions by clapping and yelling at the end of a performance, they even yell an clap at opera concerts, they are in general monkeys with an easy life :),

being at a live performance is SO different from watching a recorded version--much more emotional, and THAT is what evokes the cheers and yelling. People are moved by a great performance, and respond.

@ruperthebrave , I understand that it might be annoying if you are not used to this type of response. But, let me assure you that it is prompted by emotion and approval, and is meant to be encouraging and motivating. It's not meant to hinder or chide. I hope this helps you understand how much we love and appreciate this European Wonder!
