The BBC 'lost' the tapes due a 'cock up'.
The reporting of Building 7 collapsing 23 minutes early was an 'error'.
These are the only explanations the BBC has ever provided to the suggestion they were being played like a fiddle by those who carried out the September 11th attacks.
The official story of September 11th is simply not credible.

In 2001 news tapes were probably created by a news outlet then copied and distributed for use among affiliated/sister outlets. Clips of the news would be used and re-used until the end of a news cycle. The original tapes would have been be archived the day it was made. This is my guess: There was no cockup. The original tapes are still in possession of the BBC. The embarrassing admission of knowing events before they actually happened is being withheld from the public.
