Red Dawn ('84) Trailer

A film depicting the invasion of the United States from the north and south by communist forces from Cuba and Russia in the beginning of WWIII and the efforts of partisans from a small mid-western town to turn back the invasion. This film is one of the basis of the beliefs of the citizens militias and patriot groups about the possiblity of a U.N. takeover of the U.S. The movie and the theory of the New World Order proposed by the militias are similar, invasion by a foreign force, a big gun grab, arrest of gun owners, military equipment being moved on railroads, enemy helicopters re-education facilities (concentration camps), and a citizen force that strikes back.

Best 80's action movie ever

The writer/director based it on the Russian invasion of Afghanistan, which was notoriously brutal. They're probably going to update it a bit, make China a Russian ally in the new one, maybe get Zak Effron to play the lead. Now THAT'S an actor I wouldn't mind seeing get shot to ribbons.

This movie is awesome in that it shows why the USA cannot be invaded: we have too many country boys with guns, including Patrick Swayze and Emilio Estevez!

Haha. Maybe Zak could win the Oscar for Best Actor if he dies like the guy att he end of Platoon. Either way, if Calument High gets replaced with East High, and the Wolverines with the Wildcats, I almost want the Russians to win.
