What You Don't Know: Mission to the "Zoo"- Chapter 7!!!

Hey guys... here's the next chapter...

Nick's POV:

Nick: Hey. (not opening my eyes to look. He feels a gentle touch on his shoulder and he slowly open his eyes and looks into the night. He sees blond hair beside him on his left.)
Jessi: You gonna come in for dinner? It's your favorite.
Nick: (nods slightly) In a moment. (he continues to look out and observe the beautiful night.)
Jessi: You really enjoy being alone outside at night. You find it calming and relaxing.
Nick: (finally looks down at her) Yeah. How do you know that?
Jessi: Well first off, everyone that knows you knows that and second off, you used to do it when we were little. It's just something you have always done and enjoyed doing. (smiles)
Nick: Of course. Jeez, is there anything you don't know about me?
Jessi: (smiles and thinks) Hmm...well I do know your favorite color is blue, you love steak, you enjoy anything that has to do with music, your birthday is September 16, which is today, you have 3 brothers, you and me and our families all have a huge secret, (which she means by the mission) and that you have a best friend that you have known for about 13 years and that you aren't crushing on even though that is common in childhood friends and your best friend knows everything about you. (smirking)
Nick: Ok. You win.
Jessi: Absolutely. I rest my case. (laughs)
Nick: But what was that one part towards the end that you said?
Jessi: What? That I know everything about you?
Nick: No. Before that.
Jessi: That we have a secret?
Nick: No. Something about best friends crushing.
Jessi: (confused but then she gets it) Oh about the best friends crushing?
Nick: (nods)
Jessi: Well someone really bugged me about it today at school and well I was just poking fun at the people that say that we are going to eventually date because we are super close. (looks out into the sky)
Nick: Why? Do you like me Jessi? (jokingly smirking)
Jessi: Really Nicky? You are more like my brother than anything.
Nick: (continues to smirk)
Jessi: Hey. Don't act like you don't know exactly what I am talking about. (defensively)
Nick: I'm just kidding. (they sat and looked at the stars a little longer)
Jessi: But it does get kinda annoying.
Nick: What does?
Jessi: Everyone thinking that we like each other. A girl the other day at school told me that everyone knows we like each other except you and me.
Nick: That's ridiculous.
Jessi: Well, what if they are right?
Nick: Well I don't have any feelings like that for you. (stops and think) At least I don't think I do.
Jessi: Same here.
Nick: Well perhaps there is a way that we can get to the bottom of this. (quietly)
Jessi: (looks at Nick. Her eyes full of curiosity) How?
Nick: (Before any second thoughts, he grabbed the back of her neck and gently pulled her in as there lips collided)


Nick: (As there lips touch a million different emotions filled his mind. Then she took her hand and set it gently on his side. Her hand brushed over the scar that he had received almost a year ago. Every time it had come in contact with something it sends a weird feeling throughout his body and because that has just happened he deepens the kiss. Eventually they pull out from the kiss and look each other in the eyes. They just kind of look at each other not knowing what to do next. He can't really stand the awkward silence much longer so he pulls his hands away from the contact they were making with her and she did the same. He cleared his throat and looked down and then back up at her. She was looking down at her hands and biting her lip. He clears his throat one more time before speaking again.) So...did you feel anything?
Jessi: (shakes her head casually and looks up) No. I didn't feel anything.
Nick: (nods in agreement) Me neither. (What a relief!)
Jessi: So I guess that means that we are right and they are wrong.
Nick: Yeah. (smiles as all the tension leaves and the universe feels back in balance.)
Jessi: Oh and that has to be the worst idea you have ever had. (snapping)
