Yes that is very true, but it depends on the genre of racing you are proceeding with. It is also the same with any other automobile, simple because of power to wait ratio.

American cars are great in drag racing, I will give you that, but thats because they handle horribly, and thats what you want in drag racing, less steering radius, right. Besides, I dont care for drag racing at all, I love real racing, road coarse racing, and thats where handling comes into play.

@shoemaker671 No you don't need a V8 to make power. But if power is what your looking for...aka "horsepower and torque", a V8 will make it a whole lot easier to get that. Dollar for Dollar nothing beats an American V8.

I live in a town where Ive heard and hear things like this all the time, you got to have a v8 to have power, that is a lie, and anyone thats desagrees need to have a talk with me. Let me do a little explaining, its not the quantity of cylinders the automobiles engine obtains its the genre of design, and the quantities of horsepower and torque that matter.
