I remember when the WW2 games first became all the rage. I enjoyed the original Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, but got sick of them years before the trend died out.

Constant action does not get dull when that's what you play the genre for.

I did especially when the enemy was using chainguns so you can't even see the projectiles. I had to hide and attack from the other side. They never get boring to you but back then they became really boring after awhile for the majority and people wanted something fresh. Then came the ww2 games and from there what we have now. I like games like Painkiller but the constant action does get dull after the first or second time.

I disagree. I hid behind no cover in DooM, and twitch shooters never get boring for me.
