We had another that got shaved.....they have an undercoat that keeps them warm in the winter and takes a long time to grow back so we don't shave them anymore

Nah mate, tridem is pretty rare here, most of the ones i've seen are pulling big road train sets doing ore carting for mines, think they like em for the extra traction...
