This is a cover of the new Dave Matthews Band song "You and Me", off of the album Big Whiskey and The GrooGrux King. It's a great album, and I'm guessing this will be the second single they release...
This is a cover of the new Dave Matthews Band song "You and Me", off of the album Big Whiskey and The GrooGrux King. It's a great album, and I'm guessing this will be the second single they release. Anyway, I came up with these chords and they sound like the actual song but are easier to play, Dave's loves to use weird chords and make things difficult. If you have any questions, ask away. And subscribe while you're at it too please! Thanks y'all.

but I usually think it sounds pretty slick to double the third. Example: on the D of the chorus play a D in the bass and two F#s (Tabwise would be 6th string 10, 5th string 9, 3rd string 11). I don't know how you would but let me know if you think that works for you. PS sorry for the stupid long post
Wow man, this is a lot, haha. I'm gonna have to look over all you wrote and officially respond later. Buuut, the one thing I can say now is that I had only heard the song for the first time one day before I recorded this vid, so it was new to me and there were no tabs online yet so I just came up with this version by ear. I know it's far from spot on.
Yeah I think that's damn good for one listen. I was doing probably the same thing you were doing after I saw them at the gorge. But it took me a few listenings to the recording before (I think) I got exactly what was going down.
The other stuff is pretty typical Dave only playing two notes (the root and the 3rd an octave up) for all of those chords which is actually harmonically less complicated than you are playing it.
Instead try playing an A w/ your pointer finger (as your doing) and the next lowest F# with your pinky. Than move the A voice up to the B (played w/ your ring finger) and the F# voice up to a G (Played w/ your pinky). In tab speak that would be 3rd string 2nd fret and 4th string 4th fret and then 3rd string 4th fret and 4th string 5th fret. Believe me, it is not much harder and (to me) sounds better, as I think it is accurate.
You say this is a simplified version but its not really simpler than how Dave wrote it, its just slightly different. The difference in the main riff is that you are playing an A and a high D and the A voice moves up to a B.
