This is a persistence of vision clock I built from an old hard drive. It uses a slot cut into the platter and pulses of light from underneath to give the illusion of clock hands. It has some jitter problems I am working on, but otherwise is working as I had hoped. I used a PIC16F88 to control the timing of the lights.
