@Donlakyounomoah I think the reason why she is so "hated" is because her self exposure of her tawdry,sordid little tale was so unnecessary. We did not need to know about her ugly affair. She could have made the story a work of fiction,thereby deflecting criticism from herself. But revealing herself to be the cheater brought down all of this well deserved scorn especially since Amy Adams in the movie played a flawed,but basically likable woman, a portrayal which we now know was untrue.
