I think the song suits them because i think the doctor loved these two && if you think about it he lost them both in a similar way..

Rose was falling && the doctor screamed her name..then she got saved so didnt die
Astrid was falling && the doctor screamed her name..then she kinda got saved but was turned into blue particles..
