Bowerbird - or - how to impress a lady

A clever character: the bowerbird. It has to perform quite a few impressive tricks to be able to breed. To start with, the male will only win a female if he shows he can build a truly fantastic nest. Easier said than done because the female is very fussy. She is not easily satisfied. It starts with a few twigs, the foundation. The complete structure is built up around it.
Twigs alone are not sufficient, a path must also be laid preferably with pretty stones. The males are more than willing to gather those stones. Then all that is left to do is sit and wait will she come or not.
