Finally have the V8 running in my Skyline. This is the third time the engine was started after sitting around for 3 years.

  • so you never once fired it up in three years, Why???

  • @wavular The engine was sitting in a corner of my garage while I built the car so it couldn't be fired up :)

  • I was browsing images of the 240k and came across your thread on the SAU forum. Read a little bit about your project. Very nice!

I have a '68 Dodge Charger, '73 Plymouth Scamp and a '72 240Z. My brother has an '88 Supra with the GTE motor.

I'm a member of zcar, classiczcars, hybridz, moparchat and supramania.

How did you get the R154 on the back of that LA engine? I'd be possibly interested in doing that in my Scamp. Did you have a bellhousing made or an adapter?

  • Hi Dave, I have A CRS bellhousing that I bought with the engine and gearbox you hear on ebay for $1000 this was cheaper than a new bellhousing. I wanted to go the 318 route as this is the biggest engine I'm allowed to put in and mopar engines rock. At the moment it has a steel case but I have been assured that the w58 I have sitting in the shed will fit the bellhousing. I'll kill this combo having fun then rebuild and fit new box. Good to hear about another mopar nissan fan! :)

  • Moper smallblock?

  • Yep 318 soon to be 390 after a good stroking.

  • It sounds like you got a scorching deal on that bellhousing. I was just curious about that application, kind of hoping that maybe for some freak of nature reason all I'd have to do is get a custom flywheel drilled. hahaha...

Yeah, you might murder that little w58, but I believe they are common enough. That's the same 5spd in the Sr5 2wd pickup. If you have the need for more torque handling look into an R154. Those things will handle just about anything you can throw at them in a heavier Supra

  • Pronto voy a hacer que el humo de los neumáticos a altas rpm para usted, sólo necesita un poco de más trabajo antes de que sea listo.

  • eres bien mamon para aceleralo...todos queremos escucharlo en altas rpms!
