I the Lord of Sea and Sky: - the Words -

I the lord of sea and sky,
I have heard my people cry
all who dwell in dark and sin,
my hand will save,
I who made the stars of night,
I will make their darkness bright
who will bear my light to them?
Whom shall I send?
Chorus..
Here I am, Lord; -- it is I, Lord -- I have heard you calling in the night; -- I will go Lord, if you lead me, I will hold your people in my heart.

2.
I the Lord of snow and rain,
I have borne my people's pain;
I have wept for love of them,
they turn away,
I will break their hearts of stone,
give them hearts for love alone,
I will speak my word to them,
whom shall I send?

Chorus...

3.
I, the Lord of wind and flame,
I will tend the poor and lame,
I will set a feast for them,
My hand will have,
Finest bread I will provide,
till their hearts are satisfied,
I will give my life to them,
Whom shall I send?

Chorus...

  • very nice very clever!

  • I want one of these!!!

  • Very nice, thanks.

  • It's across between a bell tower and a carillon, isn't it? I'd love to see the bell part.

  • Amen Brother!

  • haha, lol! I like it!

  • I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. This past Sunday (September 21), we sang this as our closing hymn. It is #574 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship in the Vocation, Ministry section. Just thought I'd share.

  • This is the only way to hear this hymn......it actually sounds rather good on the bells....

  • no rests? very good playing, but rhythm problems

  • Fascinating instrument there, it definately puts a new spin on the classic bell ringing technique.

One pretty major problem tho, now I want one!!!

    God Bless
