reminds me of hurricane isabel, which was also a cat 2 when it hit where i live. it was downgraded from "supercane" status as a cat 5, which made us think it wouldn't be bad at all... and while it certainly could've been worse, we had a rough night!

Isabel hit here to, I remember it like it was yesterday. We were spared but 10-15 miles south of us they were devastated. It wasn't as bad as the La Plata Tornado in 2002 but it was just a much wider swath of destruction. We had a Hurricane Party that night though, had music playing with MSNBC and FOX5 in the background. Hey, if you've gotta go through hell, why not enjoy it?

i'm with you! i was going out every so often to take pictures, and make a scrapbook spread of them! fox5 and nbc4 are all like "don't go outside!!!" and i'm like "watch me!" it was kinda fun... except when the wind picked up and the house swayed. THAT was not fun, that was downright scary. as was the la plata tornado - know someone who lost EVERYTHING in that. that was a very bad day.

When oh when is a large 2X4 or piece of sheet metal going to cut one of these reporters in half. This is soooo stupid. It's like during the floods when they have the idiot reporter standing in waist deep water. That would be a great time for a power pole to crack and fall in the water. I don't watch Reality TV at all but I'd watch that. They could hand out Reporter Darwin Awards yearly.
