This is a raft made with 3 discarded boxsprings that we filled with 1200 empty water bottles. We used chicken wire to secure the boxsprings and prevent, in the event the material rips, bottles falling out everywhere. We also left the top boxspring empty, cut a hatch in the top of the deck for storage. This video does not show the wire or deck. it is just the test float. We plan on living on this boat for 3 days while we float down the Meremac River. We plan on documenting the trip and posting it this June.

  • Boat did just fine. You can see the whole trip, and the other homemade boats if you search homemade boat float on meremac

  • We are sailing this boat/raft/pile o crap down the Meremac River in Missouri in one week, June 18th. Other homemade trash boats will be accompanying us.

  • how much did it cost you to make all of this???

  • @evilgopherproduction Boxsprings were free. Just watched the free section on craigslist. I bet there are 5 free boxsprings a day. Saved water bottles (with lids) at home and work. Had my students save them for me also. Recycled another thousand I did not need. So, the chicken wire is the only cost $25.

  • @siue060275 I drink a lot of 2 liters they are even better!

  • gay

  • press 2 for foreskin!

  • did you call all those little kids suckers, because they cheered for you ?

  • Did you fill the bottles with anything, or just use them as is with the lids on? I saw something similar where they used dry ice, but I thought that would be over kill.

  • 1200 water bottles at 16oz capacity each would float 1200 pounds including the craft and passengers. I think.

  • did the boat mold up?

  • bomboyage suckers

  • poor little kids
