You can always check to see if your player (DVD or Blu-ray) will play all-region. I know mine does and most of the ones I see out there. I'd be really surprised if this series ever came out on DVD in the US.

I was a Blakes 7 fanatic back in the day- yes the not-so-special effects were laughable to say the least- but what it lacked in style- it more than made up for in memorable characters, great acting and brilliant stories- the complete opposite of what those lazy bastards pass off as entertainment today

The BBC has created some of the best TV shows around. Doctor Who, Blake's 7, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Monty Python, Fawlty Towers and Mr. Bean to name a few. Blake's 7 is one of the best scifi series ever! As many have already said it's characters, acting and storylines more than made up for any deficiencies in special effects. I'm 43 now but I still remember how upset I was over the absolutely criminal way they ended the show. Although not nearly as famous as Star Trek, just as good.

Mr. Bean was ITV. Not every British show is made by the BBC!

They never saw it through. They did do some scripted tapings with new actors (B7 Productions) but not actual live action or anything... in fact some of the old cast appear in the recordings.

Oh If you are new to animie then I don't know where to begin lol. You can watch anime for free if you type Free anime in you search engine... or copy and paste this into youtube search for some examples of good anime... Top 15 Most Awesome Anime Scenes ... There is anime for all tastes, my favourite is Naruto (a Japanese tv series) but try watching Ghosting in a Shell 1 and 2 the movies if you haven't seen them before. And yeah TV just sucks... enjoy mate.

I can't remember the Quatermass Project but a couple of friends still talk about it,I used like the Tripods also, great series.True, the BBC used to make some groundbreaking sci-fi back in the day.I wonder why they just gave up?Like you I can't be bothered with all the reality stuff the Beeb is obsessed with these days. I must check out the Anime you mentioned.

Yeah, between about 6 and 7:30 BBC2. Even the new Dr Who seems aimed more at EastEnders soap fans than it is at sci fi fans. British sci fi was the best at one time, I remember Quatermass, Sapphire and Steel, The Tripods, The Day of the Triffids to name but a few, and all on at prime time. I simply don't watch TV anymore, I'd rather watch Japanese Anime online or grab a DVD... I'm just not egocentric enough for, so called, 'reality' tv that makes up the majority of tv listings these days.

Yeah, it seems the BBC's antipathy toward science fiction continues to grow.Do you remember the little cult section they used to put on at 6 o'clock? You could watch Star Trek or Farscape etc.Now we don't even get that.

I cried at the end... honestly! Norrr we, or the BeeB rather, just don't make them like they used to. You simply can't beat 70's tv, even the American stuff was great then. 70's tv just wanted to entertain you... modern tv wants to manipulate you and tell you how to think. The only stuff I watch now on tv is Japanese animie
