You couldnt have made Your fan using an Old heater/a.c Furnace Blower and Hook it up via a 400 or 500 watt dimmer switch ( designed for Lights) ? Or and old leaf Blower Motor ( the electric ones? Just curious also Why is is so shallow in the actual working area of the forge, the flat area that has the sides before the ducks nest? Please send me some plans for your forge as I want to start Melting aluminum and pouring My own pistons and will need to make steel pins and various other parts too

Insulate the bottom to protect the fan.
INSOWOOL ceramic insulation...excellent stuff. You could pick up 2000 degree items and not even feel it.

Nice! how do you like the depth of the fire pot. I can not get any information about how it should look.

Great job on both items. The hammer holes in the stump is pretty cool and the forge is awesome!.
