This is my first attempt at fabricating a forge. This design was largly inspired by the guy from Govanon Iron Works. I incorporated a few ideas of my own and am very pleased with the finished product. I hope you like it!

Thanks for the comment. A craftsman always loves to hear his work is appreciated!

  • Great job on both items. The hammer holes in the stump is pretty cool and the forge is awesome!.

  • Thanks for the complement.

  • You couldnt have made Your fan using an Old heater/a.c Furnace Blower and Hook it up via a 400 or 500 watt dimmer switch ( designed for Lights) ? Or and old leaf Blower Motor ( the electric ones? Just curious also Why is is so shallow in the actual working area of the forge, the flat area that has the sides before the ducks nest? Please send me some plans for your forge as I want to start Melting aluminum and pouring My own pistons and will need to make steel pins and various other parts too

  • that's a fine forge by the way

  • first rule of forge club is don't leave the hot cut in the hardy hole....

  • @Jaimoore12 How did you figure the angle for the pot

  • todo muy bonito pero un herrero nunca jamas tiene todo tan bonito ... las herramientas son para usarlas no para mostrar que lindas son , as algo lindo con ellas suerte

  • Your wrist will thank you if you lower it.

  • Insulate the bottom to protect the fan.

INSOWOOL ceramic insulation...excellent stuff. You could pick up 2000 degree items and not even feel it.

  • Nice! how do you like the depth of the fire pot. I can not get any information about how it should look.

  • You're right, Govannon Iron Works has got awesome ideas, but you do too. Nice forge.
