Yeah, the climate is not too far off Perth's in the winter. But it would be safe to say the mountains have a lot to do with the rainfall\snowfall distribution!
I was in the clubs DG-1000 in the flight where I got most of that footage, the glider I filmed externally was the clubs Duo Discus. Both are lovely machines to have access to in a spot like that.
