International pressure mounts on Zimbabwe - 25 Jun 08

International pressure is mounting on Zimbabwe. Gordon Brown, the British prime minister, has said the UK will toughen sanctions against members of the Zimbabwean government.

This includes travel bans and a freeze on assets of named members of the regime.

Zimbabwe's cricket team are also banned from touring the UK next year.

How ironic. Not long ago it was the South African cricket team that was banned from touring UK because of the whites. Now, in 2008 it's Zimbabwe in the same situation because of the blacks. One in particular. Sad thing is, the cricket team is punished for the Mugarbage antics. And the people who are truly responsible? Free as an eagle on the wind.
