  • is there a reason why 8:38 to 8:47 is blocked out? i feel like i'm missing something crucial here :|

  • @mcquoidellum I checked the original video and it has the same time jump. Must be due to some faulty equipment.

denett talks to much. being attacked doesn´t mean you are the weak link some times. Also have you see the researchers in biophysics saying the human nerves work with solitons, with sound and not electrical signals? it´s a big problem for the model of brain+rest of body that dennet and others in neuroscience follow... that´s the good side of science it´s ever changing paradigms... that´s the funny side of, not you, but of kurzweil followers, they act as religious fanatics! :)

  • @AlgeKalipso Isn't neuroscience breaking the theories of likes of Chalmers? I know people like Denett et al. have attacked him a lot. As well as Christof Koch.

  • @WarOnYourMind No. The AI+ has invented a time machine, and cut it out.

  • I smell a communist.

  • Happily for us, the view on personal identity that is more likely to be the true one is the one Chalmers supports, which is what he called the 'buddhist view'. Other talented philosophers such as Parfit and Metzinger support this view. It is in my hopes that we take it seriously: if we do, then we'll identify with consciousness in general and not its particular instantiations such as 'you' and 'me'. Then we'll realize that even AI+ and AI++ are still "us" in as much as they are conscious.
