You say the change is not instant and I disagree. The change is that you have the Holy Spirit the outside might not be completely changed but that process of change has begun at that point. You will know a tree by it's fruit

Read the book of James. Works do not save you but they are the way others can judge if God has worked in you. If the Holy Spirit is in you, He will overflow into your life.

It IS in an instant. Being baptized in the spirit, the Holy Spirit, happens in ONE MOMENT. It is not a gradual process. After your baptism it is a process, but not before.
