Hi Bill,
The starter system in the video was the system I made just to see if I was able to make such a system. I used a oneway bearing and some gears like the FEMA starter.
My system has been changed so it will take up less space but I ran into a problem. The oneway would slip at higher loads (e.g. new engine with lots of compression) and the reason is that I cannot center the axle for the oneway perfectly.

Hi. Sorry for the late reply, I didn't realize there was a comment until now. In the video I'm using a Graupner Speed 480BB 7,2V Race motor. I'ts no problem to start a warm engine but when the engine is cold the electric motor will have to turn it for several seconds. After a few seconds, the electric motor will start to melt down because of the heavy load.
Now I'm using a 4.5T brushless sensored motor and 3S LiPo batteries.
