Another Native infant died in Port Alberni, British Columbia, Canada under the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). It is noteworthy to remark that over half of the 9,500 children in B.C. government care are of aboriginal ancestr. First Nations make up only 4% of the population. In some regions, as many as 75 to 80 per cent of children in care are native. On a per capita basis, a Native family will attract the attention of MCFD 24 times more than a non-Native family.
There are compellling reasons to believe that the First Nation has been targeted as the federal government provides financial subsidies to provincial governments on a per head basis.
This problem cannot be solved unless child removal authority is revoked.
this is sad ..ministry only there to take native children .. broken homes broken hearts .. my neice passed in care and she was under one yr old
