What is a good number of fish? How to you maintain that as they grow and you pull them out? Put two little ones in? How many fish is a good ratio? Totally interested in this process! Loved the video and what a great ministry!

@nannette70 They're meant for little kids splashing around and drinking the water and what not. They should be perfectly safe for your fish.

Thanks for this instructional video. I would like to know about the blue tubs. These are not food safe right? Are we not poisoning the fish with the offgasing from the blue tub?

First I would like to offer a big wave to Eric as I am sure he didn't see the one he received during the video. I learned so much - the basics! This will help me get started. I am off now to see what else you have for videos... Tip. all the electrical could get secured onto the lid of your filter. I assume you have a plan, Just making sure you are aware that air pump should be above water level. God bless you also xoxo
VERY GOOD ! I am an ecologist also tyring to reduce ENERGY consumption, so few tips :
* air pump is not needed (waterstream = water in movement always takes enough oxygene, same with aquariums...) > energy saving / less investment cost.
* reduce the distance between upper tanks and lower tank > energy saving (pump will consume less and maybe will work longer).
* think about pumping f.e. 50 % of time (with easy timer) > energy saving, and maybe enough to cycle nitrate in your system (test it)

nice one. i would keep the top grow bed lower to improve the pump efficiency. Maybe as small a gap as possible to access the fish from.
Or better still, raise the lot and use the underneath as storage. That will make it toddler friendly too (child safety around water always a No1 priority :) and at a good height to pick the lettuce and feed the fish.
