On Peter Lavelle's Crosstalk, his guests talk about what is behind the Dalai Lama's meeting with Obama. The US speaks nice words about China, but its actions say something different, and China has the means to show its displeasure.

  • Free tibet? From? Are they starving, are they being tortured in slavecamps like the North Koreans? I always wodered why and where this promotion about freeing tibet came from! Thx RT now i know...

  • @tcl83 Tibetans who use violence aren't fighting for independence, they are simply killers/murderers.. real Buddhists don't use violence.. I really doubt the Dalai Lama would advocate violence as the tool for revolution. It won't accomplish anything except get them all killed by China. Its like Texas, Alaska or Hawaii wanting to secede but even worse since Tibet has been under China's territories since before the US was founded.

Dalai Lama is a fraud, leader of serfdom till China came..

A bunch of people are simply living in illusion, thinking they can reap some benefits by their constant, pitiful antagonizing acts, working hand in hand w/ those instigators. May Tibetan folks are continuously living in harmony, peace & happiness!

  • Before liberation Tibet was a slave colony, what the Western press euphemistically refers to as a 'feudal system'. It was NO such thing. Virtually ALL THE POPULATION was OWNED by the DALAI and OTHER LAMAS and WORKED THEIR ENTIRE LIVES WITHOUT PAY. The highest monks often owned 35,000 to 40,000 slaves. The prettiest girls (and boys) were confiscated to the monasteries for sex. Life was brutal and harsh, corrupt and punctuated by civil wars - the last in 1950. Life expectancy was barely 30...
