While photographing the fairwell to the WM F's, we managed to get some other traffic. Chessie 7614 had just be hit by a rock thrower, and had his windshield smashed. After making a stop, the conductor used masking tape to fix the windshield to get to there next terminal. An east bound passes after with a C&O U25B more than likely on its final trip before retirement. Thanks for looking. Jackmp294

  • Again great stuff. That consist on the first train looked like so many I remember with the high hood GP9 and the GP30 in it. Keep going these video are fantastic.

  • Glad your enjoying this stuf. So many are. I did know how this old stuff would be recieved, cause the quality isn't all that great. I can even see my VHS suff from the late 80's early 90's is starting to deteriorate. So I'm trying to get everything on my 1 TB hard drive. Probably talking 200 hours of railroad stuff from 1975-present. Again, Thanks for watching. Take care, Jackmp294

  • I feel left out :( Youtube still says this video is no longer avaliable! :(

  • Thats real strange. Its playing here... Jack

  • This is certainly much better quality than from Ron's tapes.

  • These are the ones that Ron put on VHS for me. I had to lighten them up a bit. I have 2, 2 hour tapes, there is another one somewhere that has a lot tour line stuff, including some more neat stuff with 148 up in Ridgewood NJ. But I need to find it ...

  • I remember when Chessie was still around running over the old B&O across Northern Indiana. Really that wasnt that long ago. Mid to Late 1980s. I remember seeing Chessie painted units in the Garrett yards well into the mid 1990s. For a really long time up until about 1997-98 or so CSX still had an ORIGINAL paint B&O "sunburst" geep running between Garrett and Willard, Ohio..... :-)

  • sounds like up to one 8 working hard sweet nice cool video

  • Stupid, maybe. Don't be a homophobe.

  • At one point in its life, 7614 with a 2nd SD40, sanded the rails of 17 Mile Grade for an engine numbered 614.

  • same

  • sounds like they're wide open

  • Love the video! Keep the vintage stuff coming!

  • Good stuff! Brings back a ton of memories of Chessie in West Virginia on the old C&O lines.
